It’s probably not different to trying to build a lightweight Muni. In terms of what works best- that’s going to depend on the course and what class you’re entered in (unicycle rules), or whether you’re competing with bikes.

Given that’s fairly new and likely course dependent, it’s pretty difficult to say. In Unicross, it has only been competed once at Unicon level, and there is both standard class and unlimited class. I raced standard this year and came 4th using a very light 26″ setup. My entire Uni came in just at 4.5kg, which was great for carrying it over the jumps and stairs.
